friend 2: ko takyah risau la...pilihanraya kali ni BN guarantee to clean sweep. percaya la cakap aku.

pi dublin, hujan. balik sheffield, salji. in between tu sempat pi ceramah ustaz erfino & ceramah ISK. all these i did in the midst of the exams season.

i went to spain and here's what i did:-
1. went shopping in birmingham city centre, amidst the cold but cheerful christmas atmosphere.
2. at the airport, met a crackpot 'angel of life' who predicted my death ("tokyo 2027, you'll be hit by a car. stay in the restaurant, order another 3 bottles of champagne". priceless) and says he was a ninja 500 years ago and a roman gladiator 1000 years before that.
3. playing *cough* kad terup *cough* with my fellow ikhwatu fillah. no kidding.
4. slept at an airport for the first time.
5. enjoyed the sunny sights of malaga.
6. prayed at mezquita la union, met a lovely moroccan brother who brought us to visit the huge king fahd mosque.
7. visited alcazabar and improved my posing techniques immensely.
8. ran 500m in under 2 minutes to catch the bus (after rushing to buy my souvenir).
9. watched scrubs on my PSP atas bus sampai pening nak muntah.
10. practised my limited spanish for the first time on a spanish cabbie. "hablo usted en ingeles? no? quanto questa?"
11. had a mediterranean breakfast.
12. met fellow brothers from ireland, london and newcastle on a similar trip to spain.
13. wore a NUFC shirt oblivious to the morning chill in cordoba. nyesal terus.
14. got pestered by a mama gypsy. she read my palm before demanding 5euros for her trouble. got a head-smack instead.
15. shopped at zara with the kids.
16. went inside mezquita cadedral - a breathtaking blend of islamic architecture and eerie christian gothic artistry.
17. had mini usrah session at our hostel.
18. ate maggi for dinner while watching ocean's 11 in spanish. brad pitt sounded like a chipmunk.
19. prayed a perfectly valid subuh at 8.30am in grenada.
20. visited the magnificent alhambra. the place lived up to my every expectation. fascinating stuff!
21. met paul, an australian tourist who's literally been everywhere and done everything.
22. my camera jatuh in generalife, ala zakri's camera jatuh. ouch
23. walked thru albaicin, prayed in mezquita mayor de grenada...borak2 with muhammad, the muezzin, in arabic.
24. saw the magnificent view of the whole alhambra at night from afar.
25. met an amateur fire juggler.
26. asked directions from a priest for a kebab joint...got directed to a church instead. seryes.
27. met a live human statue. best act i've seen in years.
28. got chased by a dog, got help from a gentleman tramp, only to be pow-ed of my euros. tolong tak ikhlas, sheesh.
29. surfed the net at a CC in grenada. windows XP was in spanish...whut the heck is 'initia'??
30. walked thru the cold night air in slippers & baju 2 lapis looking for the reputedly best kebab in town. totally worth it.
31. had hazwan walk in on me doing business in the loo. believe it or not, pintu tandas takde kunci.
32. sleazy hotel manager accused us of conteng his bedsheet and ordered to pay 11euros extra.
33. had rice, falafel & kebab in turkish restaurant. tasted like plastic.
34. went back carrying almost twice the weight i came with on my backpack.
35. chatted and laughed happily all the way home.
best holiday ever.

the last two weekends i had a fabulous outing with my mates. we went to the famous stonehenge heritage site, visited the roman city of bath, took a trip to historical york (mama's old place) with my usrah mates and played footie with mesians from all across the UK in the nottingham games. verdict: tired but happy.
