alhamdulillah, last saturday my good friend aliya selamat dinikahkan bersama akh muthanna abdul halim at her house in skudai. me went with my boys from batch 2, and saw some old faces like ustaz nik! couldn't get a proper shot coz the place was so crowded (oreddy without us menyibuk dtg  ). i laughed when i learnt pengantin perempuan segan/takut/seram nak turun bawah from her room...! and oh there was one kodak moment when ustazah azimah made her speech and virtually ALL hadirin shed a tear or two... 
delighted to finally meet muthanna at last. relieved to see him being taller than she was. smurfie kept her promise of crying her eyes out masa akad nikah huhuhu.
after that gi jusco cari hadiah for the newlyweds. haggled with the others before settling on an absolutely adorable comforter set. hope puan aliya likes it heheh. 
petang plak gi wedding reception kat rumah universiti. met A LOT of long-lost friends! kinda like a reunion in itself.  payut dtg lewat skit pastu takmo makan. umar dtg with his sisters. fahmi and family da balik awal2 (far's turn to use the car plak  ). kaled "i'm metrosexual, me" shamsudin resembled a freshly haircut reshmonu. the effervescent amad came with his bros. kubeb, cakir, zul, amad qds, zhafri and suweb pun datang meraikan pengantin.
and of course, the bride and groom both looked gorgeous in their wedding dresses. err takleh nak komen byk2. seri pengantin ye? ehe. well, it certainly is a day to remember for aliya & muthanna and also for her friends. okeh next up sape nih!

burger king KLCC, with luqman bey and nizam. i was like: "man, ko ni harap je keje ngan maxis kaya raya...tp handset takde nak tunjuk pon..." to which he replied "ala aku zuhud je zaid...pakai 3310 je sama cam ko," whilst taking out his modest nokia 3310 model. "ko tau tak, orang beli handset mahal2 pun nanti kena curi. buat penat je, rugi doo." and then proceeded to take out a second 3310 handphone. "aku ni biar handset murah..tapi nombor ade tiga beb. senang nak call awek2...sorang kat sabah, lg sorang kat johor, sorang lagi keje ngan aku kat KL ni." and unbelievably, took out his third handset, also a 3310. we just sat there gobsmacked as luqman flashed all three of his handsets in our faces. priceless.

one of the best things of going back to my kampung in perlis was going on my pakcik's suzuki VS125 scooter around and about the kampung lanes.
riding alone at the cool speed of 80kmh, with no one to block your path or fuss about from the passenger seat. riding on the dirt road with beautiful green sawah bendang spreaded as far as the eyes can see. the morning sun about to dawn its light upon this majestic land of the
clouds. the wind blowing a furious breeze in your face...i was wearing my glasses and even then i can't help shedding a few tears. but i couldn't mind any less...i've never felt so alive! riding high, standing on the scooter bellowing sugar-ray's "when's it's over" oh-so out of tune...but without a care in the world. no one to listen, no one to judge, boo or hiss. seeing the serene faces of the makcik2 kampung making their way to the sawah for a day's work and waving hello to them, paying a solemn tribute to the honest toil by the people who had paved the foundation to our nation's development of all these years.
yeah, it was bloody magnificent. u should try it sometime!

one of my very favourite raya songs was the one that went: "berlalulah sudah ramadhan, sebulan berpuasa..." and then something-something me tak ingat and then "anak muda di rantauan, semuanya pulang ke desa, ibu dan ayah keriangan, bersyukur tak terkira.." or somewhat like that. next verse still gives me the chills, exciting punye pasal: "kuih dan muih, beranika macam..makanlah jangan hanya dipandang" and blah-blah-blah so on so forth.
anyway, in the spirit of syawal i wanna capture the festive and joyous mood surrounding raya celebrations at my kampung in baling, kedah.

phew! a joyous, mahabbah and ukhuwwah-filled day it has been for me and my friends from batch 2. a reminisce into the past beckoned as arjun, dzafir and i came to noreen's walimah at her house in senai. there we were pleasantly surprised to see the girls yg dah awal2 sampai. lepak-ed and borak2 wif them like old pals...rasa cam mini reunion pulak. but kudos to nana anyway for taking the trouble to send me the invitation card.
later in the afternoon fadhilah ajak we boys gi jenguk effa kat HSA...dia baru bersalin tau! the oh-so cute aliya mardhiyah (comeii sgt! ehe) was safely delivered at subuh last friday. effa kena stay kat hospital dua hari lg and then mummy and baby can go home. heheh.
pastu kami tade idea so gi jenjalan kat danga bay. around maghrib we headed home... tired, dazed but happy nonetheless.

venue: sportsglobe, sblh giant tampoi
team karisma B defied all odds to claim the first place in the recent karisma-KRI friendly. the underdogs went from being trounced 4-1 in the opening game vs KRI B, to bouncing back with a 4-0 win against KRI A and then edging fellow karisma-ians team A to progress to the final. there they exorcised the old ghosts of doubt with an emphatic 3-0 win against KRI B. a truly good day for the lads, especially zakri who managed to score in each game. well done!

two weeks ago it was my birthday. i had a quiet celebration my meself...cannot indulge too much maa, exams are looming!
