these are pics from post mortem project pioneer...held at (where else?) pejabat JIM. the reception was excellent, the jamuan hearty and delicious and everyone there had a fantastic time. it was a joy to be working alongside some of the best individuals i've come to know.
u guys deserved it. truly.

it was a total hoot! made me realise just how much i miss hanging out with these guys. trust me, even though we're all in the same univ it's no easy task nak ajak gathering sume orang camni.

my friends and i are total maniacs when it comes to playing cards. u name it: declare, bluff, go fish, blackjack, poker, royal flush, seven diamonds, solitaire...we've learnt and loved every game by heart and every friday night u can hear seven or eight loud voices fighting it out, terup-style in azzu's room.
here are some "terup" lingo that i picked up over the years:-
1- hustler = someone good at playing cards. an esteemed gesture, seeing that kad terup is largely a game of chance.
e.g. "peh! hustler siot gue...tiga game berturut2 tuh menang doh!"
2- chong = to deal, or shuffle the deck of cards at the beginning of a game. this laborious and unfortunate task is usually assigned to the loser of the previous round, takpun some poor newcomer sod who wants to enter the game.
e.g. "weh camne nak chong weh. aku dah lupe. asyik menang aje la katekan..."
3- soon = literally means good luck. in context: a set of ngam, cun and cantek cards. is used after identifying one's cards at hand.
e.g. "ooh, soon..soon. best ah ngko chong, bleh keje kat genting lenkali ye."
4- kowsoon kowliang = damn good luck. a superior relative of soon. nuff said.
e.g. "mak aih, giler kowsoon kowliang siot kad aku!"
5- open table = to initiate a new game of cards. a phrase used often when one is about to start the game.
e.g. "okeh, set. balik makan nnt kita terus open table ek?"
6- banker = the person permanently entrusted with handling the cards. not the most exciting of jobs, in fact it's one that everyone tries to avoid.
e.g. "weh sape nak jadi banker ni? aku dah jadik last time."
7- tadek ong = opposite of soon. to express one's dismay with his given set of cards. it means: tak berkat la hari ni. err, ye ke ni?
e.g. "teruk siot kad gue sumer. tadek ong betulla malam ni..."
8- #%@$#^#^*$!!! = a series of vulgar expletives uttered upon the end of each round. very common in card games. ranges from the mild to the utmost obscene.
e.g. "@!#@%^$!$!! gue kalah shial! #%@$#^#^*$!!!"

these pics are taken during daurah ikhwah mase bulan ramadhan dulu. i included some pics of malam badar...the school's annual kenduri heheh. kenyang woo makan nasi minyak. i remember bey, zak and me cabut daurah lepas makan and pi layan manyoo kat bukit kempas. pastu kantoi ngn my mum, haha!
err, moving on. the presenters throughout our program included distinguished pakciks such as dr omar (my dad ler), prof azlan (smurfie's dad ler), ustaz wan azlee (suami ustazah suhanna) and ustaz khairozi. also, during daurah tu, each of us peserta had to present on a topic from the book risalah ta'alim. we used really creative means...i applied the fast fourier transform table onto my usul ke-19, while bey designed an AND gate table for his "rukun pengorbanan" presentation.
terasa kemanisan dlm ukhuwwah fillah.

throughout my second year in UTM i stayed at melawis apartments with my fellow wacky, crazy and downright looney coursemates! there were eleven of us altogether...we were almost like a family, always spending time together and always looking out for each other...
sina: grunge wannabe. indeed, kurt cobain, the strokes and pearl jam are his role models. the CRAZIEST of us lot! nuff said. look at pics to believe.
mota: bubbly, cuddly, cheerful and alwez happy-go-lucky. our prodigal chef and head of house chores, heheh. suke goreng telur pakai rice cooker. being room mates, during bedtimes me and mota would share our stories on love and matters of the heart. oh, how i miss those times..
azzu: my motorsikal ride mate and owner of THAT sony wega and hifi. dulu kaki gayut, thankfully now dah cut down skit. the unofficial penghulu rumah. slalu tolong me halau lipas from the kitchen.
tin-tin: mr nice guy. a real hardware (read: computer) freak. always ready to help out with studies and stuff. he has the bloody neatest notes among us all. in fact everything about him is sooo darn neat. a blinder of an artist and minat giler kat avril lavigne mamat nih.
apau: huhu, our very own ladies man. A.K.A casanova melawis. smooth and charming especially with girls. tp kadang2 tu pandai jugak buat lawak bodo hahahaha. a self professed mat rempit and rides the stylish yamaha RXZ. plays footie with me waktu petang.
torek: mamat hensem dan sempoi, very cool in a way. his computer is probably the most expensive of us lot. suke sakat poor old me with lipas. loves his RXZ (now 125Z) and rempits with apau at night. plays footie with me and apau.
nyares: always end up being the butt of our jokes. a real comic character! anime king in the truest sense of the word. messy, lazy but a damn brilliant child prodigy...this nyares guy has an actual IQ of 151. serius!
singapore: my old roomie in freshmen year. kaki-balik-rumah-setiap-minggu. the "adik" among us. nyares' partner in crime in the anime business. best gamer i've seen in counterstrike, half-life, CoD, MoH and the lot. oh btw, the guy got the s'pore nickname coz his old school was in singapore. plays footie with me, apau n torek.
anuar: very independant guy. used to room by himself while the rest of us shared rooms. likes to crack silly jokes and we all end up laughing...at him. haha.
aidil: my upper bed neighbour. anuar's best mate ni dulu budak surau...skrg nih dah jadi giler2! suke gelak...his hearty laugh can be heard from miles away. the only person in the world who laughs at anuar's low-IQ jokes. this guy study malash nak mati tapi pointer maintain slalu beb. respek.

this entry is supposed to be outdated. it was sempena mesyuarat alumni that was held on 27th august 2003(!!) at UIA econs faculty which me, zak, bey and arjun drove all the way from JB to attend. we chilled with naim and kaled over at UIA. i remember it was during this meeting that we first discussed the idea of malam penghargaan alumni.
this fotopage illustrates the beauty of ukhuwwah that remain inside each of our hearts to this very day. the pictures were taken almost two years ago, but the guys and i are still close to each other sampaila ke hari ini. nothing's changed between us. my dear brothers, u have always been my shining light. and may u continue to lead me in the right path, all the way to syurga firdaus insya Allah.

ezmin edrus was a junior of mine at school, he's currently undertaking a diploma in catering and hotel management at institut kulinari YPJ. it was a brave decision of his to pursue something not everyone's familiar with. some laughed, some doubted him. but ezmin held his head up high, and worked hard.
and look where he is today...practical training at the palace of the golden horses! the best moment for me was during a multimedia presentation at ihtifal 2004, listing down all the study fields of the present alumni. when the name "catering" sprang up, ezmin received the loudest cheer from everyone in the hall! it was brilliant.
